YouTube Music now has a home screen #widget that allows you to move back and forth through a playlist, play and pause the music, and send thumbs up or down to the current track.
In reality, the latest widget looks the same as #Google Play Music's largest widget. If you wanted to see the current video running on top of your wallpaper, there's bad news; you're only getting a tiny still thumbnail.
It's a shame that the app is so bland and only one model (compared to three for Google Play Music) is available. Perhaps there will be more choices in the coming months as #YouTube Music becomes more popular as Android&'s default game.
Start by making sure you have the latest version of the app by visiting its page in the Google Play #Store and searching for an Update button to get the YouTube Music widget (as XDA Developers notes, version 3.39 or higher is needed).
Return to home screen of your phone once you have the latest release, press and hold any empty space, select Widgets and scroll through until you find the YouTube Music option. Then simply drag the button on your home screen. To push or delete it, you must press and hold the button.
